Sherry L. Shipman announces the

Patricia B. Cole was named as chair of
Clark Educational Services, Inc., a Texas
501(c) nonprofit organization formed
to assist international music students
who are studying under scholarships
at American universities who need
additional financial assistance, including
funding for books, supplies, food, rent, etc.
Patricia and Trent welcomed 3-year-old
Abrianna Elizabeth Cole to their family
this spring. Patricia was also elected to
the Tax and Estate Planning Section of
the Tarrant County Bar Association as the
chair-elect for the 2007 board.
Blake Hedgecock and his wife, Shelley,
welcomed Henderson Houston Hedgecock
on Sept. 5, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. Henderson
weighed in at 8 pounds, 9 ounces and
measured 21 inches long.
Chris Watts is now a solo practitioner
focusing on real estate. Chris was elected
to the City Council for Denton, Texas,
District 4, on May 12, 2007, and was
sworn in on June 1, 2007.

Lorraine Irby was appointed the Relief
Municipal Court judge for the city
of Keller, Texas, this spring. She will

Stacey D. Walvoord was named a partner
in the law firm of Vaughan, Ramsey,
Barbera & Walvoord, LLP, on Nov. 1.

Charles “Chuck” R. Gulbronson
completed his LL.M. in taxation at
Southern Methodist University in
December 2006.
Sandra Leigh Chambers King has been
accepted to the general LL.M. program
at Southern Methodist University for
the fall 2007 entering class. She will be
focusing her studies, research, and writing
on civil litigation with an emphasis
on intellectual property. She can be

Michael Munoz and Jennifer Mahnke
’03 were married on Sept. 1, 2007, in
Arlington, Texas. Michael recently
opened his own firm in Arlington,
practicing in the areas of criminal,
family, and personal injury law. Jennifer
is still with Hasten & Hansen practicing
insurance subrogation.

Alumna Recognized as Assistant Attorney General of the Year
For the individuals who venture into sectors of law that benefit people
who may not otherwise get the help they need, the satisfaction of helping
others is compensation in itself. So when Cherami Jenkins ’03 was
recognized as Assistant Attorney General of the Year, she said she was
shocked and honored, as she received the award for simply doing what she loves.
“I am honored that my peers chose and accepted me as the recipient of this award,” Jenkins said. “I
was surprised because I’m so new.”
As assistant attorney general in the office of the attorney general in northeast Fort Worth, Jenkins is
responsible for establishing, enforcing, and modifying court orders for child and medical support
on behalf of Texas children and their families. She was introduced to child support work during an
internship she took during her time as a law student.
“In these cases, the law is clear,” Jenkins said. “I love being in the courtroom, and the litigation
experience is great.”
Jenkins’ hard work and dedication were recognized by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott at
the Statewide Assistant Attorney General Conference in San Antonio in August. She was one
of eight assistant attorney generals honored, with one individual from each of the state’s regions
receiving recognition.
“Thanks to Cherami Jenkins’ hard work and dedication, thousands of young Texans have the child
support they need to grow healthy and strong,” Attorney General Abbott said in a prepared statement.
“Together with her colleagues, Cherami has improved the lives of Texans and their families. We are
grateful to Cherami for her commitment to Texas children and her service to the state of Texas.”

Cherami Jenkins was honored as Assistant
Attorney General of the Year on Aug. 18,
2007, at the Statewide Assistant Attorney
General Conference in San Antonio for
her work on behalf of Texas children and
their families. Texas Attorney General
Greg Abbott recognized one assistant
attorney general from each of the state’s
eight child support regions and the main
office in Austin.
Lori Kaspar-Coker argued St. George
v. State before the Court of Criminal
Appeals on May 23, 2007. She also wrote
the state’s brief for Hood County.
