3 Supplier Duties<br />
31 General<br />
Supplier responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:<br />
a. Reporting for work promptly, as scheduled.<br />
b. Casing, delivery, and collection of mail.<br />
c. Presenting a neat, clean, and professional appearance reflecting a<br />
positive postal image.<br />
d. Protecting all mail, monies, and postal equipment entrusted.<br />
e. Returning all mail, monies, and postal equipment to the Post Office<br />
upon return from the route.<br />
f. Providing and maintaining a vehicle of required size with necessary<br />
equipment (including chains, warning lights, emergency equipment,<br />
and fire extinguisher) free of extraneous matter. The vehicle should<br />
reflect a professional and positive image of the Postal <strong>Service</strong> and be<br />
able to serve the route safely, efficiently, and in accordance with<br />
federal, state, and local motor vehicle laws and regulations.<br />
g. Displaying a courteous and helpful attitude to customers and postal<br />
personnel.<br />
h. Developing and maintaining the skills necessary to satisfactorily and<br />
safely perform all duties assigned.<br />
i. Following the directions of on-site Postal <strong>Service</strong> management.<br />
j. Complying with Aviation Security Anonymous Mail Standard Operating<br />
Procedures as well as other established physical and vehicle security<br />
procedures.<br />
Note: Supplier employees or replacements are subject to the same<br />
duties and responsibilities as the supplier.<br />
311 <strong>Service</strong><br />
311.1 <strong>Service</strong> Requirements<br />
The supplier is required to deposit all mail in the appropriate mailboxes of<br />
customers placed along the assigned line of travel on the route. The supplier<br />
is also required to receive all mail properly tendered by customers and<br />
collect all mail from mailboxes placed along the line of travel, when a flag is<br />
displayed to indicate that a box contains mail to be taken.<br />
