11 May • Auto Shop
Oil Changing Class
Starting May 11, a beginner's oil
changing class will be taught at
the Eglin Auto Shop on the second
Monday of the month from Noon
to 1 p.m. After instruction and
demonstration, each student will
complete an oil change on their
own vehicle. There is no cost for
instruction and assistance, only the
cost of materials. This is a perfect
opportunity for spouses of deployed
military to learn valuable new auto
skills. Class size is limited to 5

Memorial Day
Gate-To-Gate Run/Walk
Registration is now open for Eglin's
24th Annual Gate-to-Gate Run/Walk,
a traditional 4.4 mile race on May 25.
Start time is 7:30 a.m. This event is
open to the public, but limited to 2,000
race participants. Pre-registration is
required by May 23. Race packets
may be picked up at the following
times: May 9, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the
Eglin Main Base Exchange (BX); May
13-14, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Fitness
Center; May 23, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at
Santa Rosa Mall's Main Entrance;
and on race day, 5:30-7 a.m. at Unity
Park. Immediately following the race,
everyone is invited to enjoy live music
with FREE food and beverages at
the Gate-to-Gate After Party! Plus, a
FREE Fun Run (1/2 and 1-mile) for
kids ages 5-13 will begin at 9 a.m.
