Summary(I) Using the techniques of MOCVD and RF reactive sputtering, 1D nanosized conductive oxide crystals have been successfully grown on various substrates with different orientations. A strong substrate effect on the alignment of the IrO 2 nanocrystalline growth has been observed. XPS spectra show that Ir in IrO 2 nanorods also exist in a higher oxidation state.
