Bright Among Many
Let them be Moons,
always anchored, changed, dulled, observed,
but tethered to the Earth.
I’d rather be a plain, simple star,
glistening in the midnight sky like diamonds
blinking above vast colorful horizons.
To be free from the grip of gravity,
to shine, to feel small in the grandeur
of the never-ending, infinite universe.
To be wished upon by hopeful believers;
drifting their desires into my light, my spirit,
or into the great, eternal unknown.
I’d rather be a small fish in a big pond
than be seen and analyzed by all,
than be a capricious, waning moon
glowering high alone above the Earth,
where it stands in the light that is not its own,
by reflection of the burning Sun
At Fort Myers High School, we like to believe that the
students walking the halls are the Shakespears & Hemingways of
tomorrow. Wether they choose writing as a hobby or a
profession, we hope they will continue to creatively express their ideas.
I’d rather stand out bright among many.

HOROSCOPE
Virgo - “The Virgin” – Try to put down
the books on a Friday night and support
the number “1” football team
in Lee County. I know that Virgo’s
are very obsessive about details, but
sometimes it is just easier to take a
deep breath and just go with the flow.
Monday morning will come with due
diligence and you will be able to get
back on track and pour on the smarts.
August 24 – September 22
Capricorn - “The Sea Goat” – Known to
be very pessimistic, instead of seeing us
only half way through the football season,
take note, that we are halfway to
the championship! Keep your ambitious
nature focused on the goal! Your goals
are very important to you. Keep up the
good work and your grades will reflect.
December 22 – January 20
Cancer – “The Crab” – This
month with Homecoming looming
in the air your relationship
status will be improving. Try not
to get too “crabby” if your best
friend is going to the dance with
your first choice. There will be
someone else, eager to go with
you. Keep your emotions positive
for some 2012 football victories!
June 22 – July 23
Leo - “The Lion” – This
month the lion will roar.
Try not to be so bossy. Leo
try to keep your wallets
closed this month, to save
for the up-coming holiday
season. Sometimes it is
hard to contain your generosity.
July 24 – August 23
Gemini – “The Twins” – This
month try to keep your flirtatious
nature in check. Use
your excessive energy to focus
on your academics and school
spirit. Remember to be flexible
with scheduling your social
and family life. Remember,
both are important to you!
May 21 – June 21
Aries - “The Ram” – Your energetic
personality is contagious this month.
Just what the Green Wave is counting
on to keep victory spirit alive. Confidence
in your academic successes
will continue to prosper as the year
progresses. Aries you are known to
be impatient, relax and enjoy the moment,
especially if you are a Senior!!
March 21 – April 19
Scorpio - “The Scorpion” – You
will be very passionate this
month about romance. Try
not to get too jealous, if your
love interest is looking over
your shoulder. Jealousy is not
your best quality. Emotions
will prevail this month with
the “Green Wave” victories.
October 23 – November 22
Libra - “The Scales” – This month
show off your romantic side! Be a part
of the social scene here at Fort Myers
High School. You will be sure to find
your soul-mate. However, remember
balance is very important to you. Try
to keep at least one eye on the books!
September 23 – October 22
Taurus – “The Bull” – This month
try not use your horns. Be gracious
to everyone in your path.
Kindness will pay off. The Green
Wave is consistently victorious.
The football team is feeling the
pressure, to keep the lead. Try
not to be too greedy and show
some respect to the losing teams.
April 20 – May 20
Pisces - “The Fish” – This
month try to continue your
good nature demeanor and
go with the flow. Check
your grades, you may be
surprised to find yourself
in the spotlight. A/B honor
roll is in your future. Use
you generous heart to lend
a hand to someone in need.
February 20 – March 20
Sagittarius - “The Archer of
the Centaur” – This month
your restless nature will get
the best of you. Try to stop
being so superficial regarding
your Up-coming Birthday, which
is two months away. Go out of
your way and show your optimistic
team spirit very Friday
night. See you at the game!
November 23 – December 21
Aquarius - “The Water Carrier” – Make
splash this month with your creative flair.
Think of a charity event to spur on financial
support to help out the less fortunate in the
community. Even though, you have a caring
nature you have a tendency not to be so emotional
towards the ones closest to you. Make
an effort to express kindness to your “bestie.”
