The Essentials of
Small Diameter Implants
A Comprehensive Workshop
One of the most rewarding and appreciated procedures offered to patients who
wear dentures (especially lower dentures) is the ability to enhance retentiveness
and stability. Small-diameter implants are the ideal answer to this problem.
Among their outstanding characteristics are ease of placement, minimum soft or
hard-tissue trauma to the patient and the ability to immediately load and provide
function. In addition, is the capacity to render this most appreciated service to a
wider spectrum of patients due their affordability and the fact that they are well
tolerated by otherwise medically compromised patients.
This workshop features a comprehensive overview of the scientifi c aspects and
clinical applications of small diameter implants. Numerous topics, from treatment
planning, to clinical procedures will be discussed. Placement techniques
and management of the fi nal prosthesis is conducted during the “hands-on”
session of the workshop.
Special emphasis is placed upon lower denture stabilization. System components,
instrumentation, patient education materials and marketing resources are
available for examination. This program is appropriate for those practitioners
who are interested in adding mini implant systems to their range of treatment
modalities and for those already placing or restoring these implants.

COURSE DESCRIPTION & DELIVERY
This course is a seminar/workshop that will present an overview of the scientifi c
and clinical aspects of small-diameter implants and will enable the participant to
experience the handling and placing of these implants during a hands-on workshop.
Numerous topics will be reviewed and discussed, ranging from diagnosis
and treatment planning to placement protocols and techniques. Emphasis will be
placed on the use of small diameter implants for the purpose of denture stabilization.
The hands-on workshop will feature this treatment modality.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, the participant will have a better understanding of
small diameter implants. This will include mini implant architecture, indications for
their use and clinical application techniques. In addition, they will understand the
requirements and protocols necessary for small diameter site preparation, drilling
techniques, implant placement and pick- up techniques and the use of small
diameter implants for the purpose of denture stabilization.
