in the state <strong>of</strong> Texas for the Texas Forensic Association’s duet acting competition, and qualifying<br />

for Nationals in duet acting at Texas State Thespian Festival. Her TWHS credits include roles in<br />

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, AMADEUS, SPARKS<br />

IN THE PARK, ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER,<br />

NOISES OFF! and others. She has also performed in community roles with Aside Productions.<br />

She has been accepted to the 2011 freshman class <strong>of</strong> the BFA Core Ensemble at The University<br />

<strong>of</strong> Houston <strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> Theatre and Dance, and plans to pursue acting.<br />

GOLF - The Lady <strong>High</strong>landers went to Raven Nest Golf Course in Huntsville on Friday and Saturday,<br />

March 4-5, capturing 2 nd place honors. Leading the way for the Lady <strong>High</strong>landers A Team were Kelly<br />

McGovern and Abbie Driggers, both shooting rounds <strong>of</strong> 78-77 (155). Others contributing were Laken<br />

Trahan 79-79 (158), Nicole Budnick 79-86 (165), and Katie Kilponen 85-86 (171). The A Team totals<br />

were 314-319 (633) and good for the silver medals.<br />

The Lady <strong>High</strong>lander B Team was led by Maddie Hayes’ 83-81 (164), followed by Allie Andersen’s 84-<br />

82 (166), Diana Wohl’s 83-91 (174), Morgan Lindsey’s 88-87 (175), and Becky Benchot’s 93-84 (177).<br />

The B Team totals were 338-332 (670). Also competing was Ally McBeth who shot rounds <strong>of</strong> 89-95<br />

(184).<br />

The <strong>High</strong>lander boys went to the Links at Westfork on Friday and Saturday, March 4-5, to compete in<br />

<strong>Conroe</strong> <strong>High</strong>’s Creed-Moorehead Golf Tournament. Adam Colwell’s 76-81 (157) led the <strong>High</strong>landers,<br />

followed by Chester Wang’s 77-83 (160), Fred Wedel’s 81-81 (162), Kevin Foley’s 80-84 (164), and<br />

Mike Durio’s 80-85 (165). The A Team totals were 313-329 (642) and 4 th place.<br />

The <strong>High</strong>lander B Team was led by Fernando Cruz’76-81 (157), followed by Chris Reina’s 77-85 (162),<br />

Kyle Southard’s 78-85 (163), Andrew Ertel’s 79-89 (168), and Matt Rufca’s 79-93 (172). The B Team<br />

totals were 310-340 (650).<br />

The <strong>High</strong>lander Junior Varsity went to April Sound Golf Club on Monday, March 7, to compete in the<br />

Montgomery <strong>High</strong> <strong>School</strong> Invitational Golf Tournament. The <strong>High</strong>lander A Team was tournament silver<br />

medalist Harrison Borden’s 78. Others competing were Will Park’s 83, Matt McCormick’s 94, and Reid<br />

Howard’s 105. Their team total was 360.<br />

The <strong>High</strong>lander B Team was led by Ryan Granger’s 88, followed by Stewart Park’s 92, Mason Raine’s<br />

94, and Robert Leonard’s 103. The B Team total was 377.<br />

The <strong>High</strong>lander boys went to Cinco Ranch Country Club on Tuesday, March 8, for the Cinco Ranch<br />

Invitational Golf Tournament, and the results were impressive. The <strong>High</strong>lander A Team took first place<br />

and the <strong>High</strong>lander captured 3 rd ; while Chad Hutchins was the tournament gold medalist and Matt<br />

Wesling was the bronze medalist. The A Team was led by tournament champion Chad Hutchins who<br />

shot a round <strong>of</strong> 76. He was closely followed by the 3 rd -place medalist Matt Wesling who shot a round <strong>of</strong><br />

78. Others contributing to the A Team were Brantley Blasingame’s 83, Andrew Berger’s 83, and Weston<br />

Bruce’s 88. Their winning total was 320.<br />

The <strong>High</strong>lander B Team was led by 4 th -place finisher Kyle Schnakenburg who shot a round <strong>of</strong> 79,<br />

followed by Mason Sharpe’s 82, Colin Link’s 85, and Seth Cagle’s 99. The B Team total was 345 and<br />

good for the bronze medals.<br />

Deer Park hosted their Invitational Golf Tournament at Battleground Golf Course on Thursday, March 10,<br />

and the visiting <strong>High</strong>landers came home with the championship medals as well as a 4 th place finish. The<br />

<strong>High</strong>lander A Team was led by Davis Rhodes’ 79, followed by Roberto Anderson’s 80, Brandon<br />

Pender’s 82, Juan Luna’s 84, and Jackson Cain’s 85. Their winning total was 325.<br />

Jake Boyer led the <strong>High</strong>lander B Team with a score <strong>of</strong> 82, followed by Ian Crowley’s 86, Brandon<br />

Dixon’s 88, Jack Dever’s 95, and Matt McKaig’s 101. The B Team total was 351 and good for 4 th<br />

place.
