FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA - FBLA is selling candy to raise money for club
activities. If you would like to support us, come by Room 244. Mrs. Filer will be happy to sell you a
candy bar for $1 and Tootsie Pops for $0.25.
CHEERLEADING - The cheerleaders ended their 2010-2011 season with a beautiful banquet last
Monday night. The coaches would like to thank all the parents that made the banquet a huge success!
Tryouts for the 2011-2012 season are being held next week. Candidates need to meet in the small gym
from 4:30-6:00 Monday through Wednesday for the tryout clinic. Actual tryouts take place on Thursday,
March 31 beginning at 4:00pm. Girls should come dressed in red or green shorts, a plain white t-shirt
shirt, tennis shoes, no jewelry, and hair pulled all the way back. Best of luck to all the candidates.
THE WOODLANDS HIGH SCHOOL FASTPITCH SOFTBALL TEAM - The 2011 Varsity Team
is off to their best start in school history with an overall record of 24 -0 and 4 - 0 in district play. The
Varsity won the championships in the Austin Westlake Tournament, The Woodlands Invitational
Tournament and the HSSL Tournament. The Highlanders are ranked #1 in the State of Texas and ranked
#1 in the nation according to ESPN / Rise Magazine. Juniors Paige McDuffee and Jessica Snyder have
been named national players of the week by MaxPreps. In week two of the season Jessica led the nation in
hitting. She hit 6 homeruns and had 22 RBI's. Pitcher Paige McDuffie is 17 -0 on the season with a 0.58
ERA and 115 strikeouts.
The Junior Varsity is off to a great start as well. They have won six consecutive district championships
and are well on their way to defending this title. The Junior Varsity will play in the Bryan tournament this
Saturday.
The teams continue district play tonight at 4:30 and 6:00 at College Park. Next Tuesday and Friday the
Highlanders will play at home at 4:30 and 6:00. Come out and support HIGHLANDER SOFTBALL.
BASEBALL - The Diamond Darlings and Highlander Baseball would like to invite everyone out to
Scotland Yard (behind MCC), Tuesday, March 29th, 7:00 p.m. as the Highlanders take on the Kingwood
Mustangs. In addition to seeing some great baseball, you will have the opportunity to help by donating to
the "Fit To Fight" protein food drive for our troops overseas. The Houston Marine Moms have set up this
program to help supply our troops with much needed additional foods that will keep them "fit to fight".
Below is a list of foods most requested by our troops:
Beef Jerky, Tuna Packets, Chicken packets, Protein Bars (power bars), Trail Mix, Electrolyte powdered
drink mix, Crackers (saltine, Ritz, peanut butter), Sugarless gum, Nuts, Sunflower Seeds, Canned Fruit
(small pop tops)
There will bins set up at Scotland Yard to collect foods. TWHS Diamond Darlings, Highlander Baseball,
and the Houston Marine Moms thank you in advance for your support of this VERY worthy cause. See

LADY HIGHLANDER VOLLEYBALL - The Leslie Madison Summer Volleyball Camp will be held
June 6th-9th. Any incoming 5th-9th graders are welcome. Incoming 5th-8th grade will be 1:00-
3:00($100) and incoming 9th graders will be 1:00-4:00($125). Please visit our website at

LADY HIGHLANDER BASKTBALL - Congratulations to the following Lady Highlander Basketball
players for continued success after their Regional Quarterfinal games. Sarah Seefeldt was selected to the
Greater Houston Area All Star Game. Junior Paige Bradley - selected as Offensive Player of the Year by
the Conroe Courier and junior Anna Strickland - selected as 2nd Team Player for the Area by the Conroe
Courier.
