1.5. The use of the INVRPT message versus the RECADV, DESADV messages
As shown in the different business scenario’s it is possible to inform another party about the
goods received at the warehouse or despatched from the warehouse by an INVRPT
messages or by a RECADV or a DESADV message. To understand when an INVRPT
message or a RECADV , DESADV message can be used, following clarification is provided
by Eurofer.
1.5.1. To report on the incoming goods in the warehouse
RECADV message INVRPT message
a. If a DESADV message is implemented
- the message is used to report on
discrepancies (missing goods, not
announced goods, damaged goods).
- the message also allows the reporting of
transport information.
- there is a one to one relation with the
DESADV message.
- Normally exchanged between the
receiver of the goods (consignee) and the
sender of the goods (consignor).
- Message issued normally after the
reception of the goods.
b. If a DESADV message is not
implemented
- the message can only report on the
received goods, and can not report on
discrepancies.
- Message issued normally after the
reception of the goods.

- the message is used to report on the
received goods and if necessary the
status (e.g. damaged).
- no discrepancies to goods announced in
DESADV message.
- the message does not allow the reporting
of transport information.
- the message can report on more than one
DESADV message (received goods
within a certain period).
- Can be sent by the receiver of the
goods to one or more parties, even
different from the consignor.
- Message issued periodically (once per
day)
- the message is used to report on the
received goods and if necessary the
status (e.g. damaged).
