1.3. The business scenario for an external warehouse
(Incoming and outgoing process managed by the supplier)
When an external warehouse is used between the supplier and the customer there is a
contract between the warehouse and the supplier to guarantee
- that the goods are delivered in time by the supplier to the warehouse based on the order
or the delivery instructions,
- once the goods are received, the warehouse stores the received goods and wait for
instructions from the supplier for the delivery to the customer,
- that the goods are available for pick-up by a carrier as requested by the supplier, or
delivered by the warehouse to the customer.
To achieve this scenario there is a need to have an information exchange between the parties
involved.
