Cabo de Gata – Nijar <strong>Geopark</strong> - SPAIN<br />
2011 EGN week. Snorkeling with <strong>Geopark</strong>s collaborators enterprises<br />
2011 has been a year full of challenges and as <strong>Geopark</strong> we face them<br />
strengthening our relationship between enterprises and local population.<br />
More than ever, fostering employment through the responsible use of the<br />
Geological heritage has been our main goal.<br />
“Environmental Educational Program of the Reserve of the Biosphere”<br />
The <strong>Geopark</strong> managed this educational program aimed to the local<br />
population through workshops, courses, field visits and much more, with<br />
more than 600 people participating in the activities. The Geotouristical<br />
Centre “House of the Volcanoes” play a major role in the meetings and<br />
activities of this program.<br />
Geoemployment Project. The main goals are to preserve the Geodiversity<br />
and Geological heritage, enhance Geotourism in the Iberian Peninsula and<br />
to create and support employment at local levels. The project is divided in<br />
two phases over a period of four years (2011-2014).<br />
Spanish Forum of <strong>Geopark</strong>: officialy created in december 2011.<br />
