FUNCTION:<br />
Provides a forum through which local governments work together to make planning & policy decisions<br />
regarding the St. Louis region. As the regional council of governments & metropolitan planning<br />
organization, the Council's activities are directed toward a series of important goals, including a growing<br />
economy, a clean and healthy environment, safe communities, efficient and balanced growth, and a<br />
well-functioning multi-modal transportation system. The Council works with local governments, citizens,<br />
and a host of other regional, state and federal agencies toward these outcomes.<br />
