OVERVIEW OF PRACTICES<br />

Introduction<br />

The Manav Seva Trust is a Indore (M.P) India based Charitable <strong>trust</strong> <strong>th</strong>at was<br />

formed in <strong>th</strong>e year 1992/1993. The Trust is a non‐profit organization, under <strong>th</strong>e<br />

management of a committee of Trustees. It is a registered as a PUBLIC TRUST<br />

Under Madhya Pradesh Public Trust Act.1951(Section 6)<br />

• Bio‐Medical Waste disposal project<br />

This organisation in Gujarat is involved in collecting medical waste from various<br />

hospitals in and around Porbandar city <strong>th</strong>rice a week on alternate days here.<br />

Members of <strong>th</strong>e Manav Seva Trust collect medical waste from 180 hospitals<br />

spread over an area of 100 kilometres wi<strong>th</strong> <strong>th</strong>e help of its covered vans. The<br />

waste is disposed in an electric furn<strong>ac</strong>e on every Tuesday, Thursday and<br />

Saturday.<br />

The waste is disposed off as per <strong>th</strong>e guidelines set by <strong>th</strong>e State Environment<br />

Ministry at an incinerator built by <strong>th</strong>e Trust in <strong>th</strong>e suburb of Porbandar.
