I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the
Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into
hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand
of God the Father Almighty. From thence he will come to judge the living and the dead.

Preaching this morning is Pastor Brad Urbach, our Liturgist is Pastor Levi Willms.
Easter Notes Once again, we sing our joyful Alleluias and Hymns of Praise. The cross is no
longer draped, and colorful lilies adorn our Altar again. Our beautiful white paraments once again
adorn our Altar, Pulpit, and Lectern, as we celebrate Christ’s Resurrection. The statue of Christ,
which sits on our Altar, is from our first church, which was built in 1938.

Easter Morning Breakfast The LYF will be hosting an Easter Morning
Breakfast between our Easter morning services from 9:30-10:45. As we rejoice
over Christ’s Resurrection, we gather for food and fellowship. We have egg
dishes, baked goods, potatoes and assorted beverages. Please take advantage of
this opportunity for fellowship with one another and also support our LYF.
Holy Communion will be celebrated at our 11:00 service next Sunday. In this Sacrament, our
Lord brings us strength and forgiveness to be about His vision and mission. Those confirmed
Lutherans who come to the Sacrament of the Altar today are asked to read the communion side of
our information card found in the pew rack and to sign the bottom of the reverse side so that our
communion records might be complete.
Adult Bible Study Next Sunday we will have a presentation shared by Nick Hill and Norm
Neilan on their January/February trip to Hong Kong.
Over the July 4 th weekend we will host about 20 students from Hong Kong from the
school our District Mission trips have visited. This is the first time that these youth have visited the
USA.
Sunday School There is NO Sunday School this morning. We will resume classes next Sunday.
Nursery There is NO Nursery this morning.

Gifts –
• Thank you for your gifts of $6014.50 to the Building Fund
last week that includes special gifts designated for the
tables, chairs, window sills, and blinds.
Progress
o The new Lobby of the Christian Family Life Center, is now complete. We had really
hoped to save the 1978 addition wall in the Lobby out of historical consideration.
There were simply too many cracks, holes, and discoloration. Therefore it has been
sheetrocked. The door frames in that wall were also replaced as they had badly rusted
out. New doors have been put in the new frames in the Lobby.
o The “Living Room”, which is the passage way between the Sanctuary Narthex and the

Lobby of the Christian Family Life Center, now has a ceiling and base, and Berea
Circle has its primary cabinet filled with cards, napkins and gifts.
o The Day Care cabinets are nearing completion and we hope to move the Daycare next
week.
Second Floor What a job you have done!
o The St. Matthew Room is complete.
o The St. Mark Room is nearly all drywalled.
o The Hallway is all painted.
o The door frames will be painted shortly and then the doors, which we ordered some time
ago, will be installed.
o What remains – putting the tiles in the grid which is done.
Work Day – Saturday morning, April 24, 9-12.
We have two tasks –
1. We will, at least, cut tiles and put them in the second floor hallway and drop in as many
tiles as possible. Our goal: Hallway done by June 6.
2. We will need lots of rakes to get the Third Street Boulevard and lawn ready for hydroseeding.
Our goal: Grass and landscaping by June 6.
Decisions
o The Building Committee has chosen carpet squares for the Living Room, Daycare, and the
’96 Narthex. The squares have been installed in the Living Room and Narthex and the
Daycare may have been carpeted by today.
o There was a large expression to get the Narthex carpet replaced due to its wear and
the raised areas. This is an expense we had not planned for, but in order to match
carpets, now was the time to do it. Please remember the extra expense for the
Narthex, which was $10,000.00, in your Building Fund giving. Thanks!
Thank Yous
o We are very grateful to Laura Archambeau of Todd’s Electric for the donation of fixtures
and the complete wiring of the St. Matthew Room and the electric roughing out of the St.
Mark Room.
o To Mike Weisgram of Country Carpets for donating the carpet squares for the Daycare
office and providing carpet for the second floor landing by the new kitchen stairwell.
o To Mike Leidholt for volunteering to build some little kids stools for the new restrooms
and drinking fountains in our new addition.
o Steve & Heidi Kampfe and Clif & Velda Rediger who have donated gifts for the three
new blinds in the Living Room.
o Ron & Sandy Peterson who have given a gift so that FM Acoustical could finish the grid
work in the second floor hallway.

office was.

all of this for our previous Fellowship Hall. The gift is now twice given.

o The LWML for new kitchen shelves in the pantry.
o Five new framed art prints depicting five significant moments in Christ’s life have been
purchased for the Living Room. Copies of the prints are on that wall. We thank: Larry &
Judy Coyle, Karen Lindbloom, Betty Leidholt, John & Velda Bartel and Pastor Urbach.
The artwork will be here before Dedication.
o Thanks also to the many who purchased new tables and chairs for the new Christian
Family Life Center. With the addition of the seven new tables and the 109 new chairs
we can now easily accommodate 240 people. We will have an extended thank you list in a
later bulletin.
The Commercial Dishwasher is now installed and hopefully will see busy service this Sunday at
our LYF Easter breakfast.
Tables and Chairs
Have you been among the legions of hands who have carried tables and chairs up and down stairs,
inside and outside? Well, the Christian Family Life Center should make this a bit better.
We have ordered an additional 7 round tables, which will bring us to 30. We can now
have up to 240 people at one sitting with our own round tables. Craig Bump has donated the first
two of these tables. The other 5 tables have now been signed up for.
We also have ordered 109 more matching chairs for these tables. Craig Bump has donated
the first 16 chairs. The additional 93 chairs have been signed up for.
o For really large events like June 6 we will still need to move some tables and chairs and
rent some as well, but not as many as before.
o We thank Craig for his donation and the excellent pricing on the tables and chairs. A
larger thank you will be in next Sunday’s bulletin.
o The cost of the tables are $176 per table and the chairs are $17 per chair.
We will use the Building Fund account for this. Please note your gift is for the Building
Fund and designate that it is for tables or chairs.

Palm Crosses We thank the following ladies for helping put together our Palm Crosses last

The Glory Cross – We thank the Ladies of our Altar Guild for the beautiful Glory Cross. The
Lenten Cross has seen a beautiful transformation. We especially thank Bernice Huber and Jerry &
Lois Erbe for gifts to help with the Glory Cross. Bernice’s gift in memory of Marion Kopplin who
served faithfully in our Altar Guild for many decades. Thanks Bernice for your thoughtful gift.
The Erbe’s do so in loving memory of Marion as well and Andrea Urbach who also served on our
Altar Guild. Jerry & Lois also made this gift in thanksgiving to God for the healing of their
daughter, Jeri Lynn, who had open heart surgery. Thanks, Jerry & Lois, for your thoughtful gift.
Worship with the Pastors You are invited to worship with the Pastors of the South Dakota
District on Monday night, April 12 at 7:00 p.m. Pierre is hosting our April 12-14 Spring Pastor’s
Conference and Faith Lutheran is the host site for the Monday night evening worship service.
Preaching will be Dr. James Lamb who preached here at Faith in January. It will be a wonderful
service. It is always nice when the people of the host church are there as well. The pastors notice
and enjoy the congregation being present.
LYF Lock-in We will have a lock-in for LYF on April 30 th starting at
9:00 pm and going till 8:00 the next morning. Please sign up in the
Narthex.
LYF Meetings We will be having LYF at 8:00 pm on Wednesdays in April on the 7 th , 14 th , 21 st
and 28 th . It is nice to be back to our 8:00 time and I hope you can come and have some fun and
talk about God’s word.
CAMP MINNEBOJI information and registration forms are now
available here at the church (or get this information on-line at
www.minneboji.com)! Camp week is June 20-26 at Camp Okoboji in
northwest Iowa. The camp, for kids in grades 4 – 9, features Bible
study, mission presentations, music, crafts, sports, recreation, and the
chance to meet new Christian friends. This year’s camp theme is

“OutSTANDing!” It concerns the life of Daniel. The camp registration fee is $255 ($285 for 9 th
grade “Honors” campers). The registration deadline is June 5. You can pick up registration
booklets in the office. Faith will cover $50 of the registration and send the registrations in so
please drop them off at the church office.
Circuit Bible camp will be next summer, July 27-30 at Custer State Park. This is for kids
currently in 3rd-8th grade, so please mark your calendars. If there are any adults that would like to
go and help with Circuit Bible Camp, please speak with Pastor Willms
Child Care Needed: We will need childcare for the wives session of South Dakota Spring
Pastor’s Conference. Childcare is needed Tuesday April 13th from 9:00-11:00 in the morning. If
you are willing to help out pastor’s wives in this way, let Pastor Willms know.
LYF Perkins Fundraiser The LYF will be doing a Perkins Fundraiser on Thursday evening
April 29th. 10% of your bill will go to support our LYF.
JYM Activity We will have our next JYM activity on April 11th from 3:30-5:00. There will be
a short bible study and we will play some gaga ball, volleyball, and basketball. Hope to see you
there; I had a lot of fun with you at the JYM olympics.
VBS Dates Vacation Bible School will be Sunday June 13 th through June 17th from 6:00-8:30.
There will be sign-up sheets and registration forms soon. I hope many of you can be a part of VBS
this year. We again have Captive Free joining us and this year have a group that also spent some
time overseas.
Bake Sale for Hong Kong International Interface: There will be a bake-sale between services
on Sunday, April 11th to raise money for activities during the Interface event with 20 students
from the Hong Kong Lutheran School and our congregation and community. The event will be
over the July 4th weekend. Stop by and help support this wonderful event and hear more about it
as Nick Hill and Norm Neilan share about their trip to Hong Kong and about the students coming
to South Dakota. In addition, if you are interested in hosting students in your home, you can get
more information about that opportunity as well.
Compassion International – Do You Sponsor a Child? That’s a good

2010 Faith Lutheran Food Drive Totals
Faith Lutheran collected 1,450 food and paper products for the Pierre-Ft.
Pierre Food Pantry in March. On March, 26, a crew of men from the
church hauled 98 boxes - weighing a total of 1,617 pounds - from the church to the Pantry, which
is located in the City Auditorium on Sioux Avenue. In addition, members of the congregation
wrote checks totaling $210.00 to the Pantry in conjunction with the Food Drive.
Among the items collected this year:

111 cans of soup and boxes of soup mix
108 boxes of Hamburger Helper, Tuna Helper and Chicken Helper
92 cans of vegetables
86 boxes of cereal and oatmeal
85 boxes of macaroni and cheese

54 boxes of cake, brownie and dessert mixes
52 cans of spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli and other pasta meals

Monday afternoon ladies Bible Study continues tomorrow, April 5 at 1:30 p.m.
The study is titled: “A New Song: Save Me, O My God.”
Beth Moore Simulcast Kiss your insecurities good-bye and discover the joy of living with
confidence. In this one-day simulcast event, women will learn to conquer fear and doubt and will
discover the liberating confidence and security that can only be found in Christ. Join Beth Moore
for a day that will transform and liberate you! So long insecurities!
The price of the tickets are $20 and includes lunch to be served at CBC. No childcare will
be available. The Saturday, April 24 th simulcast will promptly start at 9 a.m. and conclude at 3
p.m. Tickets are available at Community Bible Church.
An Invitation Mother – Daughter Brunch “Soaring Above the Turbulence” Saturday, April 17,
2010 at 9:00 am at Lutheran Memorial Church. Bring your daughter, neighbor, niece, friend or coworker
and join us. The morning activities will include an inspirational keynote speaker, Mary
Carwile. Mary will share her message, “Soaring Above the Turbulence.” Entertainment and
brunch will be provided. Tickets may be purchased at the church office during regular hours or by
contacting Carol Carney at 605-223-2161.
HELP – We would like addresses of former members, family members, and
friends. We would like to send them an invitation to the Homecoming and
Dedication Event of our Christian Family Life Center on June 6, 2010.
