Hello all of you FABULoUs people out there. i trust that you all<br />
are having a great week, month and year. everything is beautiful<br />
up here on the mountain. i hope you had a wonderful Labor day<br />
weekend.<br />
i can not believe that we are already in september.<br />
there are a lot of events coming up. as always there is the Bella da Ball<br />
show at azul every tuesday night. come in and see the new stage. and<br />
i will be on that stage on september 10 down. call for reservations at<br />

in october on the 12 and and lend your support….enjoy the nice weather<br />
and all the beautiful quilts. on november 9 star on the palm springs<br />
walk of stars. it will be a faBULoUs event with everything over the top.<br />
Her star will be in front of aZUL.<br />
anD don’t forget that new Years eve will be here before we know it.<br />
Bella and the crew will be coming up to idyllwild as we have the 2 in the<br />
show; Bella da Ball, carol Kamenis, charles Herrera, pinkie Meringue<br />
shimmer, Melissa stratman, jersey shore, sassy ross, Marina Mac…it<br />
will be an over the top new Years eve at the rustic theater in idyllwild.<br />
We will be celebrating the new York new Years at 9:00. show starts at<br />
7:00 with a reception, 8:00 show time, 9:00 ball drop and concluding at<br />
10:15. contact me if you have interest in tickets as they should be going<br />
on sale soon. Last time we sold out, so get your tickets early. idyllwild<br />

is the idyllwild Quilt show. i will have 4 quilts in the show so come on<br />
up please mark your calendars as this will be the day that Bella da Ball<br />
will get her new rustic cabaret with the theme “Going Bananas’ the<br />
following will be Well it is now time for my talk on aiDs. there is too<br />
much panic around aiDs. We panic when we find out we have HiV. We<br />
panic because friends test positive. We panic when blood tests come<br />
back. But panic causes depression that contributes to illness. We need<br />
to try to replace panic with confidence.<br />
Hope expects health.<br />
it’s easier to choose confidence and avoid panic if we listen more to<br />
positive , hopeful people and less to negative, fearful people. if our<br />
doctors and friends are giving us panic-causing messages, we need to<br />
ask them to change their attitude, or we need to find new doctors and<br />
new friends.<br />
our healers and the people who love and support us can support us can<br />
help us fight panic and depression. together, we can choose confidence<br />
and hope.<br />
and here is something for you to ponder. there is no reason to panic. i<br />
am held in the hands of God. i am confident and hopeful. i surround<br />
myself with confident , hopeful people.<br />

The Palm Springs Gay and<br />
Lesbian Film Festival<br />
opens Thursday, Sept. 19th, and<br />
runs through Sunday, Sept. 22nd<br />
on Friday, September 20, 2013, Cinema Diverse: The Palm Springs Gay<br />
and Lesbian Film Festival, will screen two very different documentaries,<br />
both of which involve the State of israel. The first, which screens at 1pm,<br />
is documentary filmmaker, adult-film entrepreneur and political columnist<br />
Michael Lucas’ new film, UNDrESSiNG iSrAEL (GAY MEN iN THE ProMiSED<br />
LAND). This amazing documentary examines a side of israel that is too often<br />
overlooked: its thriving gay community, and features interviews with a<br />
diverse range of local men, including a gay member of israel’s parliament, a<br />
trainer who served openly in the army, a young Arab-israeli journalist, and a<br />
pair of dads raising their kids.<br />
The second documentary, which screens at 1:30pm, is lesbian filmmaker<br />
Leora Eisenstein’s CHiCKEN SoUP WiTH KNiVES (Merak of im Sakinim).<br />
This powerful film chronicles her journey with her sister and a private<br />
detective to Lvov, Ukraine, her family’s hometown before World War ii.<br />
There, she embarks on a search for her roots and lost family property<br />
taken during the Holocaust, as well as a sense of justice. Her journey<br />
seems straight-forward, but in reality, it encompasses a variety of personal<br />
reflections and troubling family confrontations.<br />
Both of these “must-see” documentaries are sure to both inform, and<br />
surprise audiences. Each is accompanied by a short feature, and CHiCKEN<br />
SoUP WiTH KNiVES will include a special Q&A with writer/director Leora<br />
Eisenstein.<br />
