Before we begin to come against the demons, we have to prepare ourselves. James syas we must do
four things.
Submit to God. Accepting Jesus and following the Will of the Father. Jesus always
sought the Will of the Father. John 8:28, 5:19.
Draw near to God. Spend time in Bible study and prayer. Heb 10:22, James 4:8
Cleanse your hands. Refrain from doing bad things. Repent of bad things done.
Matt 3:1-2, 5-6, 11. Ephesians 4:30-32
Purity in your heart. This is to do with our minds. It is in the mind that Satan does
battle with us. This is where temptations take place. Phil 4:8, 2 Cor 7:1.
C. Repentance – Personal and Identification
Without personal repentance there can be no forgiveness of sins. Confession comes first. Confession
identifies the sin. Confession tells us what to repent of Jas 5:16.
Repentance is the declaration that I am sincerely sorry for my sin and that I determine by Gods help
to turn away from it and never return to it. This is an attitude of heart.
Identification and repentance.
When seeking to overcome territorial spirits, we need to engage in identification and repentance.

Daniel Dan 9:4-6, 19
Nehemiah Neh 1:5-11
Hosea Hos 14:1-2
Rev 2:5
For casting out of territory spirits we need to know the sins of our ancestors that gave the right of
entry of the spirit into our territory. This requires spiritual mapping.
