Shield of Faith This shield has to be big enough to protect us, our families and our possessions Rev 12:11 these people placed their faith in the blood of Jesus and did not hesitate to say so. By their faith they defeated the aims of Satan Heb 11:4-6 E. The helmet of Salvation The helmet of the soldier protects the head The helmet of salvation protects the mind Salvation is moving from death to life Phil 2:12-13 Paul tells us to live day by day in the light of our life in Jesus This life we have in Jesus dispels fear Death is the cause of the greatest fear, we have no fear of death 1 Cor 15:54-56 Satan’s attacks upon us are to bring the fear of death Our salvation takes away the fear of death, therefore, Satan can’t attack our minds with death when we know who we are in Christ F. Jesus overcame Satan’s temptations by using the Scriptures Satan knows Scriptures well and uses them wrongly When we use Scriptures Satan trembles 2 Tim 2:15 It is as we speak out the Scriptures that the devil is afraid The Scriptures are Gods truth, it is the truth that the devil can’t stand G. The unprotected area All of the clothing mentioned protects us We must never let our guard down on the devil To let our guard down to turn and run away invites him to spear us from behind We must always be on guard 1 Pet 5:6-9
W E A P O N S O F W A R F A R E We are not called upon to just defend ourselves but to go out after the enemy. We are to conquer him. Matt 16:18-19 the gatres of hell will not be bale to remain shut. Satan can’t keep the Church out of his territory. His territory is death. Jesus’ territory is life. Before Jesus came, death overtook life. When Jesus came, life overtook death. Noe the Church of life is overcoming and life is taking over Matt 28:18. Jesus has all authority in heaven and upon the earth. Once before, Satan took the authority from Adam to rule the earth. Now Jesus – the 2 nd Adam – has taken it back. Because Jesus is now with us, we have that authority. Weapon One – Word of God Satan hates and is afraid of truth. The Word of God is truth. Use it to destroy the works of the devil. Here are some Scriptures with smashing power to use against the devil and his minions. John 14:12 Matt 10:1 Heb 2:14-15 1 John 3:8 Acts 10:38 2 Cor 10:4 Col 2:14-15 Gal 3:13 Weapon Two - The name Jesus All the demons of hell know the name Jesus. They know He has destroyed the works of the devil 1 John 3:8. They know He will judge them to hell. Matt 25:41. They are terrified of the name of Jesus used by a brother or sister of Jesus.
