Satan And Demons Have Limited Powers Satan cannot be in all palaces at all times as Gods Holy Spirit is Job 1:7, Matt 4:1, Luke 22:3 Satan does not have all power to do all things Job 1:12, 2-6 He cannot create or reproduce John 1:3-4 Satan does not know everything about all things Col 1:26-27 Demons do not understand all languages Demons cannot know your thoughts They do know Jesus and Jesus’ people Act 19:14-16 D. Territorial Spirits Territorial Spirits are demons of higher rank which have been assigned by higher ranking spirits to prevent the people who live in a given location from receiving the gospel. Acts 16;16-34 - The Python spirit had entered into this girl. Paul had entered into the territory of the Python spirit. The spirit annoyed Paul to the point where he confronted it. When Paul did that the whole city was affected. A riot an earthquake and a jail opened. Jailer and family converted and a Church planted. Phil 1:1-6. The Python spirit had control over the whole city of Philippi. Once Paul had cast it out the gospel was readily accepted. 1 Sam 5 - This story speaks of the power of God over Dagon the territorial spirit of the country of the Philistines. God’s glory entered his territory and he fell. Mark 5:1-20 – These spirits begged Jesus not to send them out of their territory. They had been assigned to work in that region. Jesus could have sent them out as He had higher authority than their commanding officer. He consented to their request and sent them into the pigs – into the lake and there they remain today. 1 Kings 20:23 B.
