Hidden Gem
If you’ve taken a stroll through the charming walkway of the Kings Head Centre
off Maldon’s High Street recently, you will have already discovered Maldon’s
newest hidden gem. Lottie & Jakes specialises in producing Cupcakes
and Celebration cakes. They pride themselves on using quality ingredients,
including locally sourced free range eggs from Sarah Green’s Organics.
Delicious cupcakes are freshly baked daily. The irresistible flavours range from
indulgent rich chocolate to delicate vanilla made with the finest extract. The
ever popular strawberry cupcake is flavoured with fresh fruit, almost healthy!
Proprietor Emma Wallis has been involved in the cake industry for several
years and fulfilled her dream of opening a shop in October. As well as selling
the cakes themselves they also have a fantastic range of cake decorating
equipment including an array of colourful cupcake cases and toppers. “I had
been working closely with Vicky from Missy Moo in the Kings Head Centre for
some time, and when the opportunity arose for premises nearby I jumped at
the chance. With the growing interest in home baking and decoration, we are
finding our cake decorating supplies very popular.”
Emma is constantly expanding her range of stock and holds regular cupcake
decorating classes for beginners or the more experienced sugar craft
enthusiast. She has designed a range of cupcakes for Valentine’s Day
