to join the committee of The<br />

Friends, and on Tuesday 22nd<br />

November at the evening meeting held at The Queens Head<br />

on The Hythe, Brian Olley was presented with a cheque for five<br />

hundred pounds to help boost the funding for the Friends.<br />

He thanked the members of the club for their valued contribution.<br />

Brian is Chairman of the group and will continue in this capacity<br />

as he done for over twenty years and said that he is delighted<br />

to receive such valued support. Alan Smith has been appointed<br />

Secretary and this years Rotary Club President Tony Newton is<br />

the Treasurer. Brian gave Matron Juliet Hunt at the Hospital one<br />

hundred pounds to be used for the benefit of the patients in the<br />

St Peter’s Ward at Christmas time and confirmed that Friends<br />

had found some new friends to help with future hospital needs for<br />

the benefit of Out Patients and In Patients.<br />

Over the years The Friends have donated many thousands of<br />

pounds and will continue to offer support where possible.<br />
