<strong>Members</strong> assembled fruit and goodie plates and delivered<br />

them to our shut-ins the week of December 10.<br />

On November 9, member Georgia Jech donated a lot of<br />

can tabs at our morning coffee. Georgia and friends from<br />

Waterville Camping Park saved can tabs this last year for our<br />

Ronald McDonald House project.<br />

<strong>Members</strong> met on November 18 at the Red Apple Café in<br />

Mahnomen. President Jim Krajsa called the meeting to order<br />

at 5 p.m.<br />

We have two new members.<br />

<strong>Members</strong> have collected 36.5 lbs of can tabs so far.<br />

A thank-you note was read from the Lakes Crisis and<br />

Resource Center for items that had been donated.<br />

We also made a donation to the Hospital Auxiliary.<br />

Larry Kotval gave a report on the MN Scholarship Fund.<br />

Due to a snowstorm, we only had 13 people at our<br />

Christmas party. We were happy to see our Agent Ron Pachan<br />

in attendance. Kevin Klimek won the crystal glasses and wine<br />

from our fall scholarship raffle.<br />

Bernice, Macy, and Sidney Trousil went shopping for our<br />

Angel Tree recipient, a benefit for needy children. Our food<br />

shelf drive netted a large amount of groceries and money.<br />

When Darren Radil received his American F.F.A. degree,<br />

he joined his brothers Matthew, Dwight, and sister Melinda<br />

in receiving this prestigious award.<br />

We held our annual appreciation meal and program on<br />

November 18 at the Daug House Restaurant in Thief River<br />

Falls at noon. After the meal was served and prizes were given<br />

out, President Maxine Olson called the meeting to order.<br />

An election of officers was the first thing on the agenda<br />

and all officers will remain the same.<br />

We have two members in nursing homes this year, so we<br />

will give gifts to them for Christmas.<br />

Donations were made to the Salvation Army and Border<br />

State Bank for two giving tree gifts.<br />

The State Meeting will be in Alexandria.<br />

A donation was sent to a member who recently had surgery<br />

for cancer.<br />

Thank-you cards were read from three different nursing<br />

homes by the youth members visited and donated candy to<br />

for Halloween.<br />

In the past couple months, members have donated their<br />

time to help at the group home, and helped make food baskets<br />

for shut-ins for Thanksgiving. <strong>Members</strong> also donated blood.<br />

The entertainment we sponsored for the residents at the<br />

Moose Lake Augustana Care Center on October 6 featured<br />

the accordion music of Florian Chmielewski. We enjoyed ice<br />

cream sundaes, which were served by members Barb Larson,<br />

Rose Mielke, Braxton Waldhalm, and Barb Alm. We also<br />

provided entertainment by Jay Poslusny (guitar and fiddle) at<br />

the Essentia Care Center in Sandstone, MN on November 9.<br />

For the annual Veterans Day dinner on November 5, our<br />

juvenile members made patriotic thank-you badges for the<br />

veterans attending, and also served as waitresses.<br />
