We will be 100-years old in 2014, and a list of ideas and<br />

suggestions were discussed for celebrating.<br />

<strong>Members</strong> went over their yearly/monthly donation list with<br />

a few changes.<br />

Our bike giveaway will take place July 13, 2013 during<br />

the Antique and Tractor Expo held at the Price County Fair<br />

Grounds.<br />

Election of officers for the ensuing year took place and<br />

present officers will retain their positions.<br />

<strong>Members</strong> set up their 2013 meeting schedule.<br />

<strong>Members</strong> met on December 11 at the Water Front for lunch<br />

before our meeting.<br />

Our Christmas party was December 8 at Moxies in Casco.<br />

Gifts were exchanged and we all donated to the Kewaunee<br />

Food Pantry. Six poinsettias were given as prizes. A brisk<br />

game of bingo was also played.<br />

A moment of silence for<br />

<strong>75</strong>-year member, Ruth Schmitt, was held.<br />

We received a thank-you note for the memorial from Ruth’s<br />

family and from Lorraine Cotter for her <strong>75</strong>-year pin.<br />

David and Donna Opicka decorated a tree for Holy Trinity<br />

School Walk of Lights. They also did gift wrapping at Bay<br />

Park Square in Green Bay.<br />

We had 27 members and 18 guests attend our Christmas<br />

gathering. There was a great selection of food, and everyone<br />

enjoyed the food and dessert. We called the meeting to order<br />

and talked about the events for the <strong>New</strong> <strong>Year</strong>.<br />

After the meeting was closed, Santa came for the children<br />

and brought all a goody bag. They really enjoyed Santa.<br />

Winners of our prizes were Lorie and Jack.<br />

Donations of food and cash went to the Neillsville’s food<br />

pantry.<br />

We played bingo to end the day.<br />

Edward G. Kasl<br />

Lodge No. 74, Dorchester, NE<br />

Brother Edward Kasl was born October 20, 1919 near<br />

Dorchester to George Sr. and Emma (Rezabek) Kasl and died<br />

September 21, 2012. Funeral services were held September<br />

25, with interment at Wilber Czech Cemetery.<br />

Edward married Rosella May 22, 1946. He was a <strong>50</strong>-year<br />

member.<br />

Survivors include son, Ed (Jody) Kasl of Omaha; daughter,<br />

Linda (Hugh) Clark of Lincoln; sister, Gladys Burda of<br />

Wilber; brothers, Bob (Marva) Kasl, George Jr. (Shirley) Kasl,<br />

and Richard (Shirley) Kasl all of Dorchester; 3 grandchildren<br />

and 6 great-grandchildren.<br />

We had a good turnout at our Halloween party on October<br />

27, which was held in conjunction with Kewaunee No. 365, at<br />

the Montpelier Community Center. Two bicycles were given<br />

away. Bingo was played, and snacks and candy were given<br />

out at the end of the party.<br />

Sister Vlasta Miller was born April<br />

27, 1923 in Tyndall, SD to Alois and<br />

Alice (Hladky) Ruman Sr and died<br />

December 8, 2012 in Tyndall. Funeral<br />

services were held December 14, with<br />

December 1945 and later married Gerald “Jerry” Miller<br />

in August 1960. She was a <strong>50</strong>-year member. She served as<br />

secretary for 39 years.<br />

Survivors include husband, Jerry Miller; son, Roger (Marci)<br />

Henderson of Bloomington, MN; brothers, Lumir (Marcy)<br />

Ruman of Tyndall and Alois Ruman, Jr of Tabor; and 2<br />

grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.<br />
