16 USER’S GUIDE CHOOSING THE CONTROL The possibilities Two main types of commands are available : ● fieldbus command ● wire-by-wire command VERSION CONTROL STANDARD The control unit is external to the actuator. It receives information from the actuator and directly controls the electric motor. CLASSIC The control unit and power contactors are integrated to the actuator. It executes the orders received by the supervisor. DIGITAL The control unit is digital and integrated to the actuator. In addition to the standard control and monitoring functions, it provides for numerous adjustment, monitoring and maintenance functions, locally or remotely. ON / OFF The travel limitation and torque limiter contacts transmit the information to the external control system which controls the motor. PROPORTIONAL In addition to the contacts, the position transmitter indicates the position of the valve and provides for proportional control managed by users. ON / OFF The information from the contacts are directly processed by the integrated control unit and relayed to the outside for signalling. PROPORTIONAL The position transmitter directly informs the integrated positioner, providing for a proportional control managed by the actuator. The position and torque sensors are absolute, digital and proportional. Numerous control variants are possible and can be programmed from the outside of the actuator. All the L. BERNARD ranges are compatible with both options. The various FIELDBUS interfaces are listed at the end of this guide. The user can choose among three versions, two of them being integral.
