2. Certificate of Origin / Horse Passport<br />

• Recognised studbook offices in the nation state of birth should issue a printed Certificate<br />

of Origin / Horse Passport with at least the following information:<br />

1) Name and origin of the horse (in accordance with Icelandic naming<br />

traditions),<br />

2) FEIF International Identification number,<br />

3) Year of birth,<br />

4) Identification markings,<br />

5) Colour and markings,<br />

6) Pedigree certificate - 4 generations or until Icelandic born horses which<br />

have no further pedigree information,<br />

7) Name and address of breeder,<br />

8) Date and signature of issuing studbook officer,<br />

9) Official stamp, name and address of the studbook office,<br />

FEIF member associations fulfilling the above demands are allowed to have the FEIF<br />

logo printed on the Certificate or the Passport.<br />

• A Certificate of Origin from the issuing authority in the nation state of birth should<br />

not be withdrawn or replaced by a studbook office of the new nation state of<br />

residence, after exportation. On registering an imported horse the studbook officer<br />

should record that the imported horse has been registered in the Icelandic horse<br />

studbook on the basis of an original certificate issued by a recognised studbook in<br />

the nation state of birth. Any replaced original Certificates of Origin shall be clearly<br />

marked with date, stamp and signature that the certificate is only valid when being<br />

accompanied by another (referred to by name of issuing authority) official<br />

Certificate of Origin.<br />

3. Alterations<br />

• In the case of the need to make major alterations to a pedigree, a name or the<br />

FEIF international identification number - the national studbook office and<br />

WorldFengur Office shall observe the following rules:<br />

1) Any alteration has to be authorised by the officer in charge of the<br />

national studbook office.<br />

2) A record shall be kept explaining the reason for the alterations and<br />

evidence that it is correct.<br />

3) A record shall be kept of previous valid information.<br />

4) Information about such alterations and the reason behind them must<br />

be registered in WorldFengur. The new information must be notified<br />

to the WorldFengur registrars in the country of location and the<br />

nation state of birth and be sent out to all FEIF member association<br />

breeding leaders.
