2012 Roosevelt Field Day
Despite the wet weather and holding the field day
indoors, Roosevelt students, staff and parents had a
great day of learning, laughter, fun and friendship.
Principal Dina Rocheleau says, “The purpose of
having a ‘field day’ at the beginning of each year is to
celebrate being at school, working together as a team
and collaborative game experiences. There were many
stations that students had to work together to complete
the activity. Collaboration is so important for
school-aged children to learn and understand. It
involves working together, problem solving and high
level thinking skills.
“Another focus for our field day is for parents to
attend and get to know their child’s new friends and
parents. I overheard two moms talking at the end of the
day for a ‘playdate’ this weekend!”
