In the first road book the complete list of symbols (according to the model at the<br />

end of the Appendices) must appear. The road book of each Leg will have in its<br />

first pages the <strong>des</strong>cription of the Leg. The list of symbols and the <strong>des</strong>criptions<br />

must be in two languages minimum, including English.<br />

The modification notes in the road book made by the organiser’s opening team<br />

must be signed by the Clerk of the Course and posted on the official board at the<br />

latest at the opening of the briefing the day before the Leg concerned.<br />

These notes complete the road book by the addition of some information about<br />

directions and danger.<br />

082.12 LEGS<br />

Each part of the Event that is separated from the next by stopping time of at<br />

least 6 hours.<br />

The distance in km of the daily Legs must be adapted to the difficulties of the<br />

terrain, in such a way that the riders may arrive by daylight in normal racing<br />

conditions.<br />

082.13 SUPER SPECIAL STAGE (SSS)<br />

The organisation of a Super Special Stage is optional. If organised, all riders<br />

must take part in it. The classification of the Super Special Stage is only to<br />

determine the starting order of the Leg 2. Penalties imposed <strong>du</strong>ring the SSS<br />

concern only the General Classification.<br />

It will be run in the form of a Selective Section, with a maximum length of 10 km.<br />

The Supplementary Regulations must specify whether reconnaissance of the<br />

Super Special Stage is permitted and in what form.<br />

082.13.1 No start or abandon in the Super Special Stage<br />

Vehicles that fail to finish the SSS <strong>du</strong>e to breakdown or other circumstances will<br />

take the start in the 2 nd Leg after the last vehicle classified of his class that has<br />

completed the Super Special Stage and will receive a 15 minutes penalty.<br />

Only in <strong>du</strong>ly accredited cases of force major may the FIM International Jury<br />

authorise a rider that has not participated in the SSS to take part in the 2nd Leg<br />

starting in last place, after all the riders who have completed the SSS, and will<br />

receive a 15 minutes penalty as well as a 30 minutes penalty for not taking the<br />

departure of the SSS.<br />
