for the management and operation of new integrated<br />

community facilities.<br />

The Division’s Activities Funding Scheme provides<br />

financial assistance to community and voluntary<br />

groups when organising Summer Projects. The<br />

Summer Projects Grants Scheme provision for <strong>2012</strong><br />

is €54,000.<br />

<strong>Fingal</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Council</strong> actively fosters and promotes<br />

the Arts in order to preserve and develop the unique<br />

nature and heritage of the county. A sum of €44,000<br />

is provided under the Arts Grant Scheme to assist<br />

events, performances and Community Arts Festivals.<br />

A sum of €45,000 is provided for events such as<br />

the International Childrens Festival Spreacha,<br />

Amharc Fhin Gall and Finsceal. A further €45,000<br />

is provided for educational programmes such as the<br />

Artist in Residence Scheme, Artist in the Community<br />

Scheme and the Art in Health Project for young<br />

people with special needs. Combining the activities<br />

of both education services and professional events,<br />

a sum of €40,000 is provided for the provision of<br />

Exhibitions and Seminars in relation to the Public<br />

Art programme. A subvention totalling €578,200 is<br />

provided for both the Draíocht Centre for the Arts<br />

in Blanchardstown and the Seamus Ennis Centre,<br />

Naul.<br />

A sum of €200,000 is provided in the <strong>2012</strong> <strong>Budget</strong><br />

for transfer to capital in respect of the cost incurred<br />

in providing Draíocht Centre for the Arts. A further<br />

sum of €15,000 is provided in the budget <strong>2012</strong><br />

for transfer to capital in respect of the production<br />

of an Arts Plan 2011-2015. €44,600 is provided in<br />

the Revised 2011 <strong>Budget</strong> for transfer to capital in<br />

respect of joint funding of arts council initiatives,<br />

together with a sum of €4,500 in respect of the<br />

public art programme.<br />

There are a number of sporting programmes planned<br />

for <strong>2012</strong> aimed at increasing participation in sports<br />

with specific target groups such as children, youth<br />

at risk, women in sport, older adults, people with<br />

disabilities, club development and coach education.<br />

A sum of €81,500 is provided for these initiatives<br />

for the year. A further €27,300 is available<br />

through Healthy Cities for sports initiatives with a<br />

specific health content. In addition to the sporting<br />

programmes, a sum of €260,500 is being made<br />

available for partnerships with national and local<br />

bodies for developing sport within the county. A<br />

subvention of €39,000 is also being provided for<br />

sports development directly through the Sports<br />

Section.
