Amendments to the Solicitors Rules
THE Council of the Law Society of New South Wales, on 18
October 2001, resolved, pursuant to its powers under
section 57B of the Legal Profession Act 1987 to amend Rule
8.2 of the Solicitorsí Rules by:
- renumbering Rule 8.2 as Rule 8.2.1; and
- adding a new 8.2.2 and 8.2.3 in the following terms:
8.2.2 A practitioner is not entitled to recover from the
client any costs for storage of documents as
required by this Rule and is not entitled to charge
any costs from storage as requested by or on
behalf of the client unless such costs have been
disclosed to the client pursuant to the disclosure
requirements set out in Part 11 of the Legal
Profession Act or with the informed consent of
the client.
8.2.3 ìCostsî in this Rule includes fees, charges,
disbursements, expenses and remuneration.
These amendments are to have effect at the expiry of
one month from the date of their publication in the NSW
Government Gazette.

33(2) of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974, do by this

Section 33(1) of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974,
as Arakwal National Park.
