of a 5-year-old deaf boy summed up<br />

his experience as follows:<br />

“I really didn’t know how to read books<br />

with my son. It was real hard to do it.<br />

Ididn’t know where to start. The Shared<br />

Reading Project, it really helped us….At<br />

<strong>the</strong> beginning, when I started sharing<br />

books with him, I was kind of scared to<br />

make mistakes.<br />

foundation for future reading and<br />
