16.2 Specifically, the rules regarding curfew and alcohol apply to all athletes on an<br />

FIS team on the Friday night of a hosting weekend, regardless of whether the particular<br />

athlete is hosting visiting athletes or not.<br />

16.3 Rule 2 regarding smoking and the use of any other drugs shall apply at all times<br />

during a student’s season of athletic participation.<br />

16.4 These regulations shall be followed by all students participating in the FIS<br />

regular season games, tournaments and other athletic competitions organized by the<br />

<strong>International</strong> <strong>School</strong>s’ Sports Tournaments (ISST) or Sports Council of <strong>International</strong><br />

<strong>School</strong>s ( SCIS)<br />

16.5 Any student who participates in an ISST or SCIS event agrees by his/her<br />

signature to obey the following rules and regulations.<br />

ISST and SCIS Rules and Regulations<br />

1. Students shall obey all instructions given them by their host parents and their<br />

coaches as if these instructions were given to them by their own parents. This applies to<br />

all activities irrespective of location undertaken during the period of the tournament or<br />

competition.<br />

2. Smoking, any other use of tobacco, the drinking of alcohol and the use of drugs are<br />

not permitted. Further, smoking and any other use of tobacco products are forbidden at<br />

all times during a student’s season of athletic participation.<br />

3. Housing arrangements made by the responsible official of the host school may not be<br />

changed.<br />

4. Students must be in the home of the host parent by the curfew hour set by the host<br />

school. ISST/SCIS Regulations stipulate that Middle <strong>School</strong> student/athletes from both<br />

visiting and host schools are not permitted to go out during athletic weekend evenings<br />

unless directly supervised by the host parent/guardian.<br />

5. Neither host families nor students may negotiate changes to the ISST and SCIS<br />

Regulations for Students with respect to curfew, housing arrangements, the use of<br />

tobacco, alcohol, or drugs or any other rules or provisions set forth by the host school.<br />

6. These regulations apply to all students: both those from the host school and those<br />

visiting, throughout the period of the competition’s duration and, for visiting students,<br />

apply also during the journey to and from the site of the event.<br />

7. Any violation of these regulations will be reported to the responsible ISST or SCIS<br />

official and to the student’s Head of <strong>School</strong>. The offending student will be removed from<br />

the tournament and from the host family home, and will either be placed under the direct<br />

supervision of his/her coach or sent home.<br />

17.0 Communication<br />

17.1 Season schedules have generally been completed for the 2012-2013 school<br />

year but may be updated and supplemented. A hard copy will be provided to each<br />

athlete at the beginning of each season via the coach, and the schedule is posted on<br />

the school website.
