NO SHOW/FAILURE TO CHECK-IN<br />

In the event that the resident fails <strong>to</strong> check-in or otherwise notifies the associate<br />

dean of students/direc<strong>to</strong>r of residence life and judicial affairs of his/her<br />

whereabouts and intention <strong>to</strong> not check-in prior <strong>to</strong> the first day of classes in any<br />

semester, <strong>Framingham</strong> <strong>State</strong> will, at its discretion, change the student‟s status <strong>to</strong><br />

commuter and/or reassign the resident.<br />

DISABILITY/UNANTICIPATED INJURY<br />

If a resident should experience any injury or disability that affects his/her<br />

housing placement at any time after participating in room selection or, for new<br />

students, after submitting their housing application, the resident should<br />

immediately contact the Office of <strong>Residence</strong> Life and Judicial Affairs as well as<br />

the direc<strong>to</strong>r of academic support/disability services. Requests for<br />

accommodation should be made in writing and be accompanied by appropriate<br />

supportive documentation.<br />

CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE<br />

In order <strong>to</strong> check out of a residence hall room at the end of occupancy please:<br />

1. Adhere <strong>to</strong> all posted and explained check-out policies specific <strong>to</strong> your<br />

hall.<br />

2. Clean your room prior <strong>to</strong> vacating so that it is in the same condition as it<br />

was upon check-in. Refrigera<strong>to</strong>rs, s<strong>to</strong>ves, and cabinets in common areas<br />

must also be cleaned.<br />

3. Check-out with a resident assistant or by completing an express checkout<br />

when leaving residence halls permanently or for summer break.<br />

Express check-out envelopes are available in each residence hall lobby.<br />

4. Turn in all keys during scheduled check-out time or with express checkout<br />

envelope.<br />

5. Check and empty mailbox at the end of the academic year.<br />

6. Remove all personal belongings from the hall at the end of the<br />

occupancy term. Personal belongings left in the hall, or attached <strong>to</strong><br />

residence hall property (e.g. bicycle racks) will be considered discarded<br />

property and will be discarded.<br />

Residents are required <strong>to</strong> leave the residence hall by 6 p.m. on the final day of<br />

classes before vacation and/or break periods. At the end of each semester,<br />

residents are required <strong>to</strong> leave the residence halls within 24 hours following their<br />

last exam, or, by 6 p.m. on the final day of exams, whichever occurs first.<br />
