Use Case 4: Demarcation update of agricultural plots at regional level for inventory record and
funding.
The scenario for the Demarcation update of agricultural plots at regional level for inventory record and
funding is that a specific owner of agricultural plots should be able to consult the inventory record
concerning his properties and update it by using detailed and as recent as possible existing
orthoimages of the area. Once the information is updated, a funding request in agreement with the
Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), should be automatically processed. It must be taken into account
that Member States can introduce regionalised payments for a whole region or country.

The user, who is the owner of an exploitation, uses a publicly accessible
GIS to find, either through zoom/pan tools or, by gazetteer search, his

different agricultural plots clearly drawn over the most recent available
orthoimages of the area. In case of changes with respect to the existing
information, the user may update, by using web-based tools, the graphical
information and attributes for any specific plot.
Quality-controlled agricultural data, together with the orthoimagery, is
available to the user according to INSPIRE specifications and the INSPIRE
Pre-condition registry provides all the necessary information for standardised access to
data. The images used to generate the orthoimagery must have been
acquired during a period consistent for the updating task.
Flow of Events – Basic Path
• Step 1. The user calls a Web Processing Service and logs into the system by
providing user identification.
• Step 2. The Web Processing Service displays the list of plots belonging to the user.

The user may select a specific plot, maybe composed of several polygons,
and activate an updating application able to make several graphic

of those polygons should also be available.
