- Composite line boring bar is a
special tool for high-speed
precision manufacturing of
various machine parts
including automobile engine
head. Unlike the existing
tungsten carbide alloy or
heavy metal products
manufactured in Germany and
Japan, those jointly developed
by our company and KAIST
are world first carbon fiber
composite products.
- Eight times as light as the
existing tungsten carbide
products, our composite line
boring bar is easy to handle. It
also features high relative
stiffness and damping and
thus enhanced dynamic
stiffness and oscillation
frequency. Accordingly, it
guarantees stable processing
without chattering at over
20,000 rpm while the existing
tungsten carbide products can
not exceed the maximum
rotation of 7, 500 rpm.
- Thanks to the nature of the
composite, it does not incur
damages while operation
resulting from external shock
and its life is twice as long as
the existing ones. This product
acquired NT Mark in material
part from the Ministry of
Commerce, Industry & Energy
in 2002 and KT Mark from the
Ministry of Science &
Technology in 2003 and was
selected as world best
product to lead the next
generation by the Ministry of
Commerce, Industry & Energy
in 2003. It is being supplied to
Hyundai Kia Motors, the
largest automobile
manufacturer in Korea and its
functional excellence has
been proved in the field.
