Future Reds
are headed
for District
The Hi-Line Babe Ruth
League Tournament gets
underway Friday at the Scobey
Ball Park with a pair of teams
representing Glasgow.
The top two teams of the
tournament feature the Coca-
Cola of Glasgow and the
Scobey Giants, both sporting
10-2 records. The Giants have
the top seeding of the seventeam
tourney bracket as, after
splitting a double header on
Saturday at Bill Connors
Field - each team with the
same number of runs in the
two games played - it came
down to heads or tails.
"We lost two coin flips
on the same day," Becky Stein
chuckled, "but hey, we'll get
'em."
Also in the hunt for the
district title will be: Sheridan
Dental (6-6), Farm Equipment
Sales (6-6). Culbertson (4-8),
Wolf Point Mosquitoes (3-9)
and Diamond B (3-9).
Games begin at noon
Friday with #3 Sheridan vs.
Wolf Point. #2 Glasgow
Coke takes on #7 Diamond B
at 2:30 and #4 FES deals with
Culbertson at 5:OO. Scobey
meets the WolfPointlSheridan
winner at 7:30 to conclude
Friday's action. Should both
Glasgow teams win their
openers, they would meet
each other at 9:30 Saturday
morning. We'll try to get a
bracket in tomorrow's GEG.
Coca-Cola contenders, back row, left to right: Coach Jesse Mclntyre, Jeff Irving, Jon Page,
Kyle Stein, Derek Hopkins, Ryan Bergtoll and Kaoki Winsky. Front row: Josh Mclntyre,
Jonathan Braaten, Mario Winsky, Steven Jimison, Kori Meiers and Jacob Renner.

A77N: Cattlemen
Workshop here Tuesday
Dr. Lynn Locatelli, D.V.M, will be putting on
a cattle management seminar on Tuesday, June 24th
at the Glasgow Elks Club.
Dr. Locatelli's Nebraska-based company,
Cattlexpressions, emphasizes low-stress cattle
handling and pre-weaning health strategies.
Cattlexpressions is an organization focused on
promoting the health and well-being of livestock
through the process, application and education of
low stress handling.
The human element has tremendous influence
on the health, welfare and performance of production
animals. It makes logical and economic sense to
train caregivers to create positive interactions with
livestock. Sinceall humancontactwithanimalsshapes
their subsequent behavior, learning body language
to communicate with livestock enables caregivers
to work safely, effectively and encourages animals
to express their true state of health. Successful
human-animal partnerships are based on MUTUAL
trust, respect and communication. The caregiver's
attitude, behavior and skills significantly influence
job satisfaction as well as the behavior, welfare and
performance of production animals.
The workshop starts at 10 a.m. and concludes
at 4:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided as well as a
social hour at the conclusion of the seminar. There
is no charge to attend.
The workshop is sponsored by Pfizer, Montana
