The AllTech World Equestrian Games 2010, held at the Kentucky
Horse Park in Lexington, really was the experience of a lifetime
for those of us able to attend and be a part of it through the Irish
Village, IDHSNA booth in it, or the Demonstrations associated with them.
We were there for all 16 days of the Games, including a few days on either
end for setup and takedown.
Each day our Demo team performed either a half hour or one hour
Demonstration, sometimes combined with the Connemaras. They all
came off spectacularly, highlighting the versatility and broad talents of our
group of horses and riders/drivers. All the while, WEG was happening
around us. The best in the world competed at Dressage, Show Jumping,
Eventing, Para-Equestrian, Reining, and Vaulting. Clinicians and other Demonstrators
abounded. It was horse heaven!
Our booth and the Irish Village in general were a big hit with the
spectators, and we feel we really made huge strides in promoting, marketing,
and educating the Irish Horses to the public. And we had fun, made
lasting memories and friendships, while doing it! It all would not have
been possible without the huge effort of those who volunteered their
time, effort, blood, sweat, and tears.
