IDHSNA Annual Show Summary . . .

September 2010 saw the IDHSNA
Annual Show returning to the
Virginia Horse Park in Lexington,
Virginia. The show included inspections,
dressage classes, combined tests, hunters,
jumpers, in-hand classes, USEA Future Event
Horse classes, a clinic on in-hand showing
presented by judges, Michael Kirwan
and Denis Dullea and stallion parades. By
the end of the weekend both veterans and
new-comers were headed home with ribbons.
Farm) Moylough Countess RID, shown by
Blaine Orris. “Rosie” was Champion Purebred
Irish Draught Mare at the Royal Dublin
Show in 2004 as a four year old and is a
stand out in North America as well. She
picked up the Purebred Female Championship,
the Mountain Dove Tribute trophy
and the Bonnie Belle Supreme Memorial
Breeder’s trophy in addition to the Reserve
Championship.
Training Level, Boo West’s Kiko IDSH ridden
by Harriet Peterson for First Level, and Beth
Brokaw’s The Bellman’s Secret for Second
Level. At the end of the day it was Kiko
and Harriet Peterson earning Overall Dressage
Champion, stepping up to First Level
this year after a successful outing at Training
Level at the Annual Show in 2009.

Windfield Touch of Gold RID, the
homebred entry of Rachael & Robert Cox’s
Windfield Farm, had a great show season in
2010. He claimed the Purebred Championship
at Upperville in June and returned to
Virginia to add Overall Show Champion at
the Annual Show to his list of accomplishments.
Through the course of the weekend
Rachael and “Harley” trotted off with
Purebred Young Stock Champion, Purebred
In-Hand Champion, Three Year Old FEH
Champion and Overall FEH Champion. As
Harley is now going under saddle, we look
forward to seeing him again in 2011!

Robbins’ Kilronan Irish Draughts, Kilronan
Glenstone RID, “Stony” ran away with the
Overall Purebred Performance Championship
by also winning Dressage Intro Level
Championship, Baby Green Hunter Championship,
Purebred Stallion Class for Stallions
Four Years and Older, Puddle Jumpers
Championship and Reserve Overall Jumper
Championship. These accomplishments are
fantastic, especially considering it was only
a year ago at the Horse Center Stony was
awarded his RID status as a three year old!
Boo West’s Kiko IDSH, ridden by Harriet Peterson,
won the KEC Double Diamond trophy for Overall
Dressage Champion.
In the Hunters, as mentioned, Kilronan’s
Glenstone claimed Baby Green Hunter
Champion while Coppanagh from Sarah Watkins’
Taproot Sport Horses claimed Reserve.
Coppanagh was also Reserve Overall Versatility
Champion and Overall Partbred Performance
Champion. Dandelion Diamond
Rebel, again ridden by Brittany Fiebrandt,
won both the Low Hunter Championship
and the Overall Hunter Championship.

The Overall Show Reserve Champion
was Charles and Susan Yates’ (Tully Cross
Kilronan’s Glenstone RID, “Stony”, Michelle and Larry

Performance Championship.
Dressage Championships went to Vicky
and Skip Crawford’s Dandelion Diamond
Rebel RID ridden by Brittany Fiebrandt for
Coppanagh, Sarah Watkins’ / Taproot Sport Horses,
Overall Partbred Performance Champion.
Championships not already mentioned
for the In-Hand classes include: Leslie Allen’s
Indigo Art winning the Partbred Young
Stock Championship and Reserve Partbred
