IDHSNA <strong>Annual</strong> Show Summary . . .<br />

September 20<strong>10</strong> saw the IDHSNA<br />

<strong>Annual</strong> Show returning to the<br />

Virginia <strong>Horse</strong> Park in Lexington,<br />

Virginia. <strong>The</strong> show included inspections,<br />

dressage classes, combined tests, hunters,<br />

jumpers, in-hand classes, USEA Future Event<br />

<strong>Horse</strong> classes, a clinic on in-hand showing<br />

presented by judges, Michael Kirwan<br />

and Denis Dullea and stallion parades. By<br />

the end of the weekend both veterans and<br />

new-comers were headed home with ribbons.<br />

Farm) Moylough Countess RID, shown by<br />

Blaine Orris. “Rosie” was Champion Purebred<br />

<strong>Irish</strong> <strong>Draught</strong> Mare at the Royal Dublin<br />

Show in 2004 as a four year old and is a<br />

stand out in North America as well. She<br />

picked up the Purebred Female Championship,<br />

the Mountain Dove Tribute trophy<br />

and the Bonnie Belle Supreme Memorial<br />

Breeder’s trophy in addition to the Reserve<br />

Championship.<br />

Training Level, Boo West’s Kiko IDSH ridden<br />

by Harriet Peterson for First Level, and Beth<br />

Brokaw’s <strong>The</strong> Bellman’s Secret for Second<br />

Level. At the end of the day it was Kiko<br />

and Harriet Peterson earning Overall Dressage<br />

Champion, stepping up to First Level<br />

this year after a successful outing at Training<br />

Level at the <strong>Annual</strong> Show in 2009.<br />

Windfield Touch of Gold RID, the<br />

homebred entry of Rachael & Robert Cox’s<br />

Windfield Farm, had a great show season in<br />

20<strong>10</strong>. He claimed the Purebred Championship<br />

at Upperville in June and returned to<br />

Virginia to add Overall Show Champion at<br />

the <strong>Annual</strong> Show to his list of accomplishments.<br />

Through the course of the weekend<br />

Rachael and “Harley” trotted off with<br />

Purebred Young Stock Champion, Purebred<br />

In-Hand Champion, Three Year Old FEH<br />

Champion and Overall FEH Champion. As<br />

Harley is now going under saddle, we look<br />

forward to seeing him again in 2011!<br />

Robbins’ Kilronan <strong>Irish</strong> <strong>Draught</strong>s, Kilronan<br />

Glenstone RID, “Stony” ran away with the<br />

Overall Purebred Performance Championship<br />

by also winning Dressage Intro Level<br />

Championship, Baby Green Hunter Championship,<br />

Purebred Stallion Class for Stallions<br />

Four Years and Older, Puddle Jumpers<br />

Championship and Reserve Overall Jumper<br />

Championship. <strong>The</strong>se accomplishments are<br />

fantastic, especially considering it was only<br />

a year ago at the <strong>Horse</strong> Center Stony was<br />

awarded his RID status as a three year old!<br />

Boo West’s Kiko IDSH, ridden by Harriet Peterson,<br />

won the KEC Double Diamond trophy for Overall<br />

Dressage Champion.<br />

In the Hunters, as mentioned, Kilronan’s<br />

Glenstone claimed Baby Green Hunter<br />

Champion while Coppanagh from Sarah Watkins’<br />

Taproot Sport <strong>Horse</strong>s claimed Reserve.<br />

Coppanagh was also Reserve Overall Versatility<br />

Champion and Overall Partbred Performance<br />

Champion. Dandelion Diamond<br />

Rebel, again ridden by Brittany Fiebrandt,<br />

won both the Low Hunter Championship<br />

and the Overall Hunter Championship.<br />

/ Windfield Farm, Overall Show Champion.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Overall Show Reserve Champion<br />

was Charles and Susan Yates’ (Tully Cross<br />

Kilronan’s Glenstone RID, “Stony”, Michelle and Larry<br />

Robbins’ / Kilronan <strong>Irish</strong> <strong>Draught</strong>s, Overall Purebred<br />

Performance Championship.<br />

Dressage Championships went to Vicky<br />

and Skip Crawford’s Dandelion Diamond<br />

Rebel RID ridden by Brittany Fiebrandt for<br />

Coppanagh, Sarah Watkins’ / Taproot Sport <strong>Horse</strong>s,<br />

Overall Partbred Performance Champion.<br />

Championships not already mentioned<br />

for the In-Hand classes include: Leslie Allen’s<br />

Indigo Art winning the Partbred Young<br />

Stock Championship and Reserve Partbred<br />
