Your Society was very active in 2010:
• The Inspection tour was successful
• the registration process has become even more efficient
• there have been lots of local events
• the World Equestrian Games were very well attended
by Society members
Congratulations to all who worked hard to make these things
happen!
The Membership statistics show that the Society has held a
steady course of membership when compared with last year’s
numbers. A few single members did not renew, but there has
been a significant increase in family memberships to offset the loss.
It appears that former single members chose to renew with family
memberships – this is very encouraging for both the short and
long terms!
Liz Freeman and I undertook a “housecleaning” of the Yahoo
Member’s List and the Notices List and have asked all members to
rejoin those chat-rooms and communication centers. We extend
that invitation to any members who have not yet signed up. Please
let us know and we will confirm your participation. The Member’s
List has been very interesting (as well as civil!), and we hope you
will re-join and enter into the discussions.
At long last, The Member’s Directory has made it on to the
Society website, and I hope people are finding it useful. Let me
know if you are experiencing problems with it.

Registrar/Membership Coordinator:
As the winter months set in, many of us start thinking and
planning for our horse activities for the coming spring. One
event we are already planning for at the office are the 2011
Inspections. Did you know that there are two general groups
of horses that qualify for Inspection? One group includes the
horses that are currently registered with the Irish Draught Society
of North America and the other group that could be
inspected are the horses that have been imported, already
registered with an approved Society.
As we found out during the World Equestrian Games,
there are many Irish Draught purebreds and partbreds in the
United States that could register with us and then be inspected
during our 2011 Inspection tour. The process is quite easy
for a direct entry with a copy of the registration papers, a
couple of forms filled out and 4 current photos provided
to IDHSNA. Please feel free to contact the office for more
information, or use the forms online to fill out your registration
and join us this year for the 2011 Inspection tour.
