Dual-doma<strong>in</strong> <strong>SAS</strong><br />

Us<strong>in</strong>g <strong>dual</strong>-ported drives and <strong>dual</strong> controllers, or a controller capable of support<strong>in</strong>g <strong>dual</strong> doma<strong>in</strong>s,<br />

provides <strong>dual</strong>-path redundancy from the server. Figure 2 shows an example of a s<strong>in</strong>gle controller<br />

capable of <strong>dual</strong>-doma<strong>in</strong> support. The <strong>dual</strong>-doma<strong>in</strong> <strong>SAS</strong> configuration <strong>in</strong> Figure 2 can tolerate<br />

simultaneous s<strong>in</strong>gle port failure <strong>in</strong> a <strong>dual</strong>-port, <strong>dual</strong>-doma<strong>in</strong> capable controller, external cable failure,<br />

and expander failure.<br />
