Examples of redundant architectures us<strong>in</strong>g serial <strong>storage</strong><br />

This section illustrates some of the redundant <strong>storage</strong> scenarios made possible by serial <strong>storage</strong>,<br />

Smart Array, and cluster comput<strong>in</strong>g technologies.<br />

Dual-doma<strong>in</strong> <strong>SAS</strong><br />

This <strong>dual</strong>-doma<strong>in</strong> <strong>SAS</strong> architecture provides redundant pathways for cascaded JBODs. Us<strong>in</strong>g two IO<br />

modules for each enclosure and <strong>SAS</strong> <strong>dual</strong>-port drives, this configuration provides redundancy<br />

throughout the <strong>storage</strong> network and elim<strong>in</strong>ates any s<strong>in</strong>gle po<strong>in</strong>t of failure.<br />
