As chaplain of Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, I am one to whom the Apostle Paul refers as a ‘steward of the mysteries of God.’ (I Cor. 4:1) That is, one who has received the truths of Jesus and His love from others, made it a part of his or her own faith story and shares those truths with others. With that understanding, the residents are also ‘stewards of the mysteries of God’, as are the staff who work here, those who visit and those who support the continued ministry of Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community. Individually, our ‘stewardship of the mysteries of God’ is being shared through our unique place in life – regardless of age or circumstance. Together, it is what connects us to those who have gone before us, those around us and those who shall follow us. At Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, the ‘mysteries of God’ are being received, lived and shared in thought, word and deed. - Pastor Al Bidne
