Did you know.....that beyond the
tradi onal Na onal Honor Society,
Sku Catholic also recognizes
students in the art and school theatre
programs through the Na onal
Art Society and the Interna onal
Thespian Society.
The SkyHawk chapter of the Na onal
Art Honor Society inducted 37 new
members. Graphic Designer, John
Gawley, SCHS graduate of 2002,
gave an inspiring talk encouraging
the students to use their crea vity
to solve problems and make the
world a be er place. NAHS provides
opportuni es for Sku Catholic Art
students to share in extra-curricular
art ac vi es and service for the
school and the community. A recent
service opportunity allowed students
to par cipate in The Memory Project
in which they painted portraits of
orphans from various parts of the
world. These portraits are then sent
to the orphans, and our Chapter also
donates funds that directly help these
children.
The Interna onal Thespian Society
(ITS), an honorary group for middle
and high school theatre students, is
a division of the Educa onal Theatre
Associa on (EdTA). The mission of
ITS is to honor student excellence in
the theatre arts. Students who have
excelled in theatre by working more
than 100 hours on two or more stage
produc ons qualify for membership.
These students work towards growing
awareness of theatre possibili es
and promo ng the theatrical arts, in
addi on to service projects.
