Global HSE
competition
We hold an annual HSE
competition in all our
factories to help focus
employees on health, safety
and environmental issues.
As part of the competition,
each factory submits one or
more examples of how they
have reduced the risk of
accidents, improved energy
efficiency, reduced waste or
saved costs. The winners in
2012 were:
1. Guangzhou, China. By
completely mapping electricity
use, the factory was
able to significantly reduce
energy consumption in
utilities as well as air and
water treatment systems.
2. Kuwait. The factory
introduced new plastic bag
packaging for putty products
that helps limit waste.
3. Poland. The installation
of a regenerative
thermal oxidiser plant
ensures minimal emissions
to the atmosphere. The
oxidiser is also integrated
into the factory heating
system to help reduce gas
consumption.
