Explorer – Next Generation<br />

We launched the Explorer – Next Generation programme in 2010.<br />

Employees from around the globe who have been identified as potential<br />

future leaders within <strong>Hempel</strong> join the programme to develop<br />

general leadership skills and improve specific business skills and<br />

expertise. Since its inception, 62 employees have completed the<br />

programme. 29 per cent of these employees have since been promoted,<br />

of which 16 per cent have been promoted twice within a<br />

two-year period.<br />

An opportunity for global trainees<br />

Our trainee programmes give young people the opportunity to<br />

kick-start their career and develop their skills with <strong>Hempel</strong>. The<br />

programme in China, for example, admits up to 16 young graduates<br />

each year, offering them the chance to pursue a career in sales,<br />

technical service or supply chain management. The programme provides<br />

structured training over 18-24 months, and valuable on-the-job<br />

experience.<br />
