About Hempel
A world-leading coatings supplier working in the decorative, protective, marine, container
and yacht markets, Hempel is committed to conducting business in a socially responsible
manner and with respect for the environment.
Hempel coatings help protect man-made structures – from wind turbines and bridges to ships and homes
– from the corrosive forces of nature. With a strong focus on R&D, advanced production techniques and
professional coating advice, we work around the globe to help keep man-made structures safe, attractive
and corrosion-free for longer.
Our coatings enable structures to remain in active service for longer by extending their product lifecycles.
This helps reduce the overall environmental impact of each structure during its lifetime. However, we also
believe that as a company we must continually focus on improving our environmental performance, and
must help our customers meet their environmental targets.
We produce advanced products for the shipping industry that maintain a ship’s hydrodynamic performance
and so reduce fuel consumption and associated CO 2
emissions. We invest in developing low-solvent
and waterborne products that reduce the amount of volatile organic compounds and other chemicals
released into the environment. And we continually work to reduce the energy we consume and waste we
produce.
Our 5,000 employees live and work in more than 80 countries, and we have 24 factories, 48 sales offices
and more than 150 stock points located strategically around the globe. But wherever we work, we foster
a close dialogue with our stakeholders, customers, suppliers and employees, and conduct business to
the same high ethical standards.
