In Agriculture, Year 8 students have been conducting fertilizer experiments on 2 different types
of plants, Petunias and Marigolds. The aim is to see the how different plants, react to different
fertilizers. The students have used cow, sheep and chook manure as well as Dynamic Lifter.
Emily is pictured with the experimental plants.
What a magnificent evening on Friday with a very successful Debutante Ball.
Congratulations to all of our debutantes who have quite clearly put in some practice over the
past couple of months. Credit must go to Nikiesha for her excellent organisation of the
evening. To have organised everything from the decorations to the attendance of Hugh and
Judy Delahunty is a mighty effort.
Our Chaplaincy programme each year likes to receive any feedback about Brian’s
support at the school and we would encourage any parents to return the slip below to the
school if they have any comment regarding Brian’s input at the school. Brian currently works
in a number of classes as a support for students and teachers, accompanies teachers and
students on camps, as well as assist with the Health programme at year 7. Response forms can
be left at the front office and we would appreciate any feedback before next Friday
We have finally worked out costings for the school bus travelling to school from
Horsham each day.
Students catching the bus from Horsham will be charged $12 per week
Students travelling from Quantong will be $10 per week
Students travelling from Natimuk will be $8 per week.
This will provide guaranteed seats for those students. Students who would like to casually use
the bus to get to Horsham or Natimuk after school, the cost will be $2 to Horsham and $1 to
Natimuk but will only occur when seats are available. Letters will be going home to bus
students to alert them of the charges. Families can pay on a daily, weekly or term basis
directly to Coralie, the bus driver. When Coralie is absent, the bus will be driven by Erich Vix,
our technology support worker.
The 24 seater bus to the Advance graduation this year is now full. We are also going to
use our new minibus to transport parents and we have just about filled it as well. Costs will be
approximately $20 per person.
Everyone Welcome
Last week, the Year 9 SOSE students visited the Minimay Block to
continue their environmental observations. They have been completing
a rapid assessment of rabbit abundance and impacts on vegetation,
photo-point monitoring and a rapid vegetation quality assessment.
The students have been completing these observations under the
expert guidance of Rachel Farren (and baby Nema), Bindi Lees and Ellie
from Trust for Nature.
Mrs Colley
On Tuesday 16th October, Anthony from Horsham Motorcycle Club came to visit
the Primary students.
He came to our school to talk to about motorbike safety, where the best places
are for riding motorbikes and the importance of being supervised.
Every student who brought a note to school, was able to get a free mini licence to
take to the Horsham Motorbike Club, which entitles them to ride their own
motorbike on the club’s dirt track.
I think the best part was seeing Millicent put the motorbike clothes on.
