Ready for a genuinely
“chilling” experience? Eglin
Outdoor Recreation will
present its 3rd annual Polar
Bear Swim at 7 a.m. Jan. 4
at Post’l Point Beach. Take
an early morning dip into
the waters of Weekly Bayou.
The event is free! Participants
are asked to pre-register
at Eglin Outdoor Rec.
Donations of non-perishable
snacks items will be accepted
during the event to help
support the USO Freedom
Lounge at your local airport.

AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio (AF-
NS) — Registration for the
2013 Air Force Marathon will
open Jan. 1, 2013, with special
New Year’s resolution
discounts.
The full and half marathons
will have a $10 discount
Jan. 1. The 10K and 5K races
will have a $5 discount.
“We encourage all participants
to register as early as
possible,” said race director
Robert Aguiar. “Not only are
the prices lower the earlier
you register, but we sell out
very quickly.”
The Air Force Marathon
sold out in record time in
2012 and organizers anticipate
selling out even faster
this year. Officials will not
be increasing the number of

Resolution run
The Eglin Fitness Center
invites everyone to celebrate
the New Year and
hit the ground running with
Eglin’s annual Resolution 3-
Mile Run/Walk on Jan. 11.
Showtime is 2 p.m. at the CE
pavilion on Cypress Road,
with the race’s start at 2:30
p.m. Participation is free for
all personnel.

it is possible to have both
the traditional and Roth,
the accounts are not interchangeable.
Money cannot
be diverted from one to the
other and they will always
function separately.
“The time to start saving
is now,” said Sapp. “The
sooner you start, the more
you will end up with. There
will almost certainly be periods
of loss, but stay the
course. A TSP is long term.
The question isn’t whether
you can afford to invest for
your retirement; it’s whether
you can afford not to.”
