Lou Manring Ashby. She<br />
retired from AT & T. Mrs.<br />
Hampton loved to baking,<br />
sewing and making quilts.<br />
She was always ready<br />
whenever called upon.<br />
A 2:00 pm funeral service<br />
was held on Wednesday,<br />
September 15, 2010 at<br />
Rosebud Christian Church<br />
with Pastor Bob Blackmore<br />
and Pastor Leo Matthews<br />
officiating. Burial will follow<br />
in the Church Cemetery.<br />
She was preceded in<br />

Marvin Odell Hampton, a<br />

GENERAL ELECTION NOTICE<br />
The Stokes County Board of Elections hereby gives notice of a General<br />
Election to be held on November 2nd 2010, for Federal, State, and<br />
County offices. On the ballot there will also be a vote on a proposed<br />
N.C. Constitutional Amendment providing that no person convicted of a<br />
felony may serve as Sheriff.<br />
This election will be held in all voting precincts in Stokes County with<br />
polls opening at 6:30 AM and closing at 7:30 PM.<br />
Written, No-Excuse absentee voting for the November 2nd election<br />
will begin on Sept 17th for voting by mail. The deadline for making<br />
written absentee application by mail is Oct. 26th at 5:00 PM.<br />
No-Excuse, One-Stop absentee voting at the Board of Elections office<br />
in Danbury will begin on October 14th and will end on Saturday, October<br />
30th. Hours are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday and<br />
8:30 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday, Oct. 30th.<br />
No-Excuse, One-Stop absentee voting at the King Public Library and<br />
Walnut Cove Fire Department will begin on Monday, October 25th and<br />
end on Saturday, October 30th at 1:00 PM. Hours for these additional<br />
one-stop sites are 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM Monday through Friday and<br />
10:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday, Oct. 30th.<br />
The Board will meet on October 12th, 19tht, 26th at 5:00PM and on<br />
November 1st at 4:00PM to approve absentee ballot applications.<br />
If you are not registered to vote, you may pick up a mail-in form at<br />
any library or call the Board of Elections office to have one mailed to you.<br />
You must be registered by October 8th in order to vote in the November<br />
2nd General Election.<br />
Persons wishing to register and vote after the registration deadline may<br />
appear in person at a one-stop absentee voting site, complete the voter<br />
registration application form and provide proof of residence by presenting<br />
valid documents showing current name and address.<br />
