• Congenital ptosis is associated with myogenic<br />
dystrophic changes of the levator muscle<br />
resulting in poor levator function<br />
• A small percentage of these changes include<br />
two types: misdirected third cranial nerve<br />
(CN III) ptosis of the Marcus-Gunn type &<br />
blepharophimosis<br />
