It was true that our company had finally managed to<br />
acquire a large c<strong>on</strong>tract, but things still weren’t going <strong>the</strong> way<br />
we’d have liked. Although every<strong>on</strong>e was working very hard<br />
<strong>the</strong> results weren’t comparable to <strong>the</strong> efforts. Additi<strong>on</strong>al financing<br />
was urgently needed. Without <strong>the</strong>se funds, <strong>the</strong> company<br />
would be unable to increase producti<strong>on</strong> to meet <strong>the</strong> necessary<br />
requirements of <strong>the</strong> c<strong>on</strong>tract. There was even <strong>the</strong><br />
possibility of having to dissolve <strong>the</strong> corporati<strong>on</strong>, but I didn’t<br />
like to think about that.<br />
At our last meeting, Gide<strong>on</strong> had menti<strong>on</strong>ed that he<br />
wanted me to meet with <strong>on</strong>e of his friends in <strong>the</strong> Big City. If<br />
<strong>the</strong>re was a possibility that it could lead me to <strong>the</strong> proper<br />
c<strong>on</strong>tacts for a business loan, I was even more interested than<br />
before. If nothing came of it, at least I wouldn’t have left any<br />
st<strong>on</strong>e unturned. It might even turn out that <strong>the</strong> meeting would<br />
be enjoyable and <strong>the</strong>re were so few fun things I did <strong>the</strong>se<br />
days. I thought I’d call Gide<strong>on</strong> and see if I could make ar-<br />
