To our dog owners
Incredible Arosa – in the very end of a wild mountain valley lays Arosa. THE pearl in the heart of canton
Grisons. All around the idyllic holiday paradise Arosa are extensive hiking paths which are very popular
especially among dog owners.
In winter a wide net of 60 kilometres prepared winter hiking trails. Most paths pass through the ski area
so that hikers are able to join skiers in the cosy mountain restaurants. In summer from special legendhiking-maps
to short and long hikes through picturesque forests, crystal clear mountain lakes, peaks of
2900 metres above sea level until numerous natural treasures – all trouvailles can be discovered on
marked and prepared hiking trails.
Request for dog owners
Arosa put several green „Robidog containers“ all over town in order for dog owners to dispose the
dog’s excrements. With the enclosed plastic bags it is very easy and hygienic to pick up the doggie do.
Help us too to keep the sidewalks, streets and walking trails clean. All dogs love to hunt if they get the
chance to do so. Also well trained dogs should be kept on the leash to not disturb the wild animals living
in the woods.
Please keep your dog leashed!
Dog transportation with cable cars:
Dogs are only allowed on closed transportation facilities (gondolas). During the winter season dogs
are transported with the Arosa-Weisshorn cable car 1st and 2nd section, the Hörnli gondola and the
Kulm gondola. During the summer season dogs are allowed on the Arosa-Weisshorn cable car 1st and
2nd section and the Hörnli gondola. Dogs (or other animals) are not allowed on chair lifts. The main
reason for that is security, especially when people with animals need to be rescued. Dogs are free of
charge when using the above mentioned transportation facilities.
We wish you many extensive and relaxing hikes in our mountain scenery with your four-legged
companion.
